Rated 4.5/5 by Amateur Photographer magazine (March 2026).
A flexible, super-light protective skin for the Fujifilm X100VI. Adds grip and protection while preserving the camera's classic profile.
Why it works
- Pop-off access: the bottom releases and pivots to the side, staying tethered to your strap lug. Swap battery and SD card without removing the case.
- Sits flat (Standard version): no protruding screws underneath, camera sits stable on any surface.
- Shape-holding fit: moulded to the X100VI's curves. Stays put, doesn't shift, doesn't sag.
- Premium leatherette texture: better grip and a finish that complements the X100VI's classic styling.
Pick your variant
Grip or No-Grip
- Grip: adds a front finger ridge and rear thumb grip for a locked-in feel. Particularly useful for street and one-handed shooting.
- No Grip: keeps the X100VI's classic, pocketable profile. No bumps.
Standard or Tripod mount
- Standard: custom quick-release bung. Snap it on, snap it off. Sits flat. Best if you rarely tripod.
- Tripod: traditional 1/4"-20 screw mount. Compatible with most tripod plates, quick-release systems, and clip mounts, including Peak Design Capture and Arca-Swiss style plates. Includes 8mm and 10mm screws. Use the 10mm to sandwich-mount a tripod plate between the case and camera.
Material
High-quality matte TPU with a leatherette-style texture. Holds its shape, flexes for fitting, resists UV and most chemicals.
Safety
- Always use a strap or tether. The case is not a primary security solution.
- Tripod version: ensure at least 4mm of screw thread is engaged in the camera tripod socket. Tighten fully and re-check periodically.

This is one of the slimmest grip options available for the X100VI. It's super low profile and extremely well built.
The thumbrest is a little odd though. It can be extremely uncomfortable if you wrap your thumb around the camera a long way and position it to the right, over the AE lock button. It feels like it was designed for you to hold the camera with your thumb more vertical, just next to the Q button. Doing this results in a much better experience.
Keeping this in mind I'm SUPER happy with this case and would absolutely recommend it.
I am half way through a holiday in Europe and this case has made the x100vi very comfortable to use. It adds nearly zero bulk while the grip is large enough to improve handling. I previously used the Smallrig grip which makes the camera too bulky. Although the case covers the battery access, I found it easy enough to slip on and off.
Expensive for what it is especially after shipping and import fees. The X100VI version with the grip has a very sharp edge on the thumb grip side that is uncomfortable. I tried to smooth the edge off with my Dremel tool but did not really improve the feel.
It appears to be 3D printed and it’ll it’s the case it will shed microplastics while holding.
In the end I’m not using it, or the non grip version.
Thank you for the detailed feedback - it's genuinely helpful.
On the sharp edge on the thumb grip: Yours is the first report but it's very useful to know. If we get other feedback around it then we'll look at refining that area in the next revision. We're sorry it affected your experience with the case.
On the microplastics concern: we understand why this is on people's minds, and it's worth clarifying. The Slim Skin is made from a professional-grade TPU filament specifically engineered for high abrasion resistance - it's the same class of material used in medical wearables and watch straps.
While all plastic products shed some microplastics over time (including injection-moulded cases, synthetic clothing, and car tyres), TPU has been shown in published research to shed significantly less than common plastics like polyethylene under equivalent conditions. We wouldn't use a material we weren't confident in.
We're sorry our cases didn't work out for you.
I had already purchased the X-E5 skin and loved it. Since I had an X100VI, it seemed sensible to also get one for that camera. So, I did.
The improvements over the bare camera are immense. It provides protection; the grip, especially the thumb grip, make it really easy to hold; it's really light - adds nothing to the weight (unlike the Smallrig one) and it takes about 2 seconds to whip it off to get to the battery compartment.
It's well worth it.

Hi James, we're very sorry to hear your feedback. We haven't heard from you previously so would love to learn more about your experience. We can then take steps to either recify any specific issue you have encountered or if there's a fundamental problem with the case, improve it accordingly.
