OVERVIEW This website is operated by Akara Labs. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Akara Labs. By visiting our site and/or purchasing from us, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

SECTION 1 - SPECIALIST PRODUCT APPLICATION, MATERIAL SAFETY & LIABILITY

  • Customer Responsibility: Akara Labs provides specialist accessories, including camera skins, base protectors, and 6-bit encoder kits. The application, use, and removal of these products are performed at the customer's own risk.

  • Material Composition & Allergies: Our camera accessories are manufactured using a flexible Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU). Our base protectors utilize standard commercial adhesive vinyl. While generally considered safe for everyday handling, they are not certified as medical-grade or hypoallergenic. By purchasing, you acknowledge that prolonged skin contact with TPU or vinyl may, in rare instances, cause irritation for individuals with specific sensitivities. If you experience skin irritation, discontinue use immediately.

  • General Safety: Products are designed strictly as exterior protective accessories. They are not intended for ingestion. If damaged, smaller pieces may present a choking hazard. Keep out of reach of small children and pets.

  • Limitation of Liability: Akara Labs shall not be held liable for any damage to cameras, lenses, or other electronic equipment, nor any adverse health effects, allergic reactions, or injuries resulting from the application, use, prolonged physical contact, or removal of our products. In no event shall Akara Labs, our directors, or employees be liable for any injury, loss, or claim exceeding the purchase price of the product paid by the customer.

SECTION 2 - WARRANTY AND REPLACEMENTS All cases and encoding kits carry a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects. In the event of a structural failure due to a manufacturing error, a clear video of the defect is required to authorize a replacement. This warranty strictly covers production faults and does not cover aesthetic wear, accidental damage, or misuse.

SECTION 3 - INTERNATIONAL TRADE & CUSTOMS (IMPORTATION) When ordering for delivery outside the United Kingdom, you are considered the "Importer of Record." Orders to all destinations outside the United Kingdom, European Union, and United States are shipped Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU) / Delivered at Place (DAP). United States orders are shipped Delivered Duty Paid (DDP), with import duties prepaid at checkout.

  • Customs & Duties: You are solely responsible for all local import duties, taxes, and courier administrative fees upon the package's arrival in the destination country.

  • The £135 EU Rule: We utilize the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) for EU orders under £135 to streamline VAT and prevent unexpected localized fees. For EU orders over £135, we provide a "VAT Relief" discount at checkout to offset the taxes you will pay to your local courier upon import.

  • Compliance: You must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.

SECTION 4 - MODIFICATIONS TO SERVICE AND PRICES Prices for our products are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) without notice. We shall not be liable to you or to any third-party for any price change or discontinuance of the Service.

SECTION 5 - ACCURACY OF BILLING We reserve the right to refuse any order you place with us. We may, in our sole discretion, limit or cancel quantities purchased per person, per household, or per order. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information for all purchases made at our store.

SECTION 6 - INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY All product designs, names, and website content are the intellectual property of Akara Labs. You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, or resell any portion of the Service or products without express written permission from us.

SECTION 7 - GOVERNING LAW These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

 

SECTION 8 - EXTENDED PRODUCER RESPONSIBILITY (EPR) & PACKAGING COMPLIANCE Akara Labs ensures complete compliance with European commercial recycling and recovery obligations for packaging materials.
