Help us get the fit right on cameras we don't own.
Every Slim Skin case starts life as a set of measurements and a lot of test prints. We buy or hire bodies where we can, but there are far more cameras out there than we can get our hands on, and small details like port cut-outs, battery door clearance and bung fit are only ever proven on a real camera.
That's where you come in. If you own a camera we're working on, we'll send you prototypes to try. You keep them, and when the case goes into production we'll send you a finished one as a thank you.

This list changes often. If your camera isn't on it, apply anyway and we'll keep you on file for when we start work on it.
What we send you
- Usually a single case but there can be variations in one parcel, so you can tell us which fits best without waiting for another package
- Free shipping, nothing to return, nothing to pay
What we ask in return
- Fit the prototypes to your camera and tell us honestly what works and what doesn't
- A few photos of the case on the camera, particularly anywhere it sits proud or there's a gap.
- Possibly a short video (your phone video is fine) to show mounting and unmounting
- Feedback within around ten days of the parcel arriving
- Tell us your camera model and any variant details when you apply, as small revisions do differ

Before you apply, please read
Prototypes are unfinished. They may fit badly, mark easily, or not fit at all. Check the fit gently by hand first and don't rely on a prototype to protect your camera, hold a tripod plate, or carry any weight until you're satisfied it fits properly. If something feels tight or wrong, stop and tell us.
Prototypes are supplied free for testing and are not for resale.
Some of the cameras we work on are for cases we haven't announced yet. We'd ask you to hold off posting photos of those until launch day, and we'll tell you when that is.
We may use your written feedback and photos to improve the design and, with your permission, on our website or social channels.
Apply to test
Applying is one email. The button below opens your email app with everything already filled in, so you just complete the blanks and send.
If the button doesn't work, email testers@akaralabs.com with the subject line Prototype Tester Application and tell us your camera make and model, any variant details, your country, how often you shoot with it, and whether you've ordered from us before.
We read every application. We'll only be in touch when we have something for your specific camera, so it may be a while. Applying doesn't sign you up to anything else, and we won't add you to our mailing list.
