Self-adhesive vinyl protectors that shield the base of your camera from scratches and abrasion. Designed to fit specific cameras precisely, with cut-outs in the right places.
Two finishes
Black leatherette: textured leather effect, with some slight thickness. Matches the Leica leatherette look so the protector blends in and gives a subtle but unique individual look.
Clear: a thin transparent sticker, basic protection without changing the camera's appearance. Almost invisible once applied.
Battery Only option
Some cameras have a battery that forms part of the camera base (e.g. M11, Q2, SL2). If you carry spare batteries and want each one protected to match, the Battery Only variant is the same vinyl sized to cover just the extra battery base.

How to apply
Clean the camera base thoroughly with lens cleaner or similar to remove dirt and grease.
Check you have all the pieces, some base protectors have small pieces that are easily overlooked when unboxing.
Before peeling the backing, dry-fit the protector to check alignment and rotation.
Peel the backing.
Working from one edge, place and align the protector onto the camera base.
Lay it down slowly, keeping slight tension and checking alignment as you go.
Once down, check for bumps or ripples, then press firmly to fully adhere.
Use a cloth to apply pressure, work from inner to outer edge to fully adhere the protector to the base of the camera.
The material is forgiving. You can lift and re-position it several times to get the fit right within the first 10 minutes or so - it's not like a phone screen protector, you have multiple attempts at perfecting the placement.
Removal
To remove, lift an edge with a fingernail and slowly pull up. After being on the camera for some time the protector usually won't be reusable, so plan to discard and replace.

If you want to protect the back of your Leica this is the right product: very similar appearance to vulcanite, excellent cut and design, perfect adhesive

Bases covered
Simple piecevof sticky-backed transparent film but it does the job, protecting against scratches. It isn't perfect, a tad thicker would be better but one can always applt two or even three pieces for added protection.
This is one of the slimmest grip options available for the X100VI. It's super low profile and extremely well built.
The thumbrest is a little odd though. It can be extremely uncomfortable if you wrap your thumb around the camera a long way and position it to the right, over the AE lock button. It feels like it was designed for you to hold the camera with your thumb more vertical, just next to the Q button. Doing this results in a much better experience.
Keeping this in mind I'm SUPER happy with this case and would absolutely recommend it.
I use an M EV1. I purchased both the black and clear versions, and tried applying the clear one first. However, it wasn’t truly transparent, so I contacted them about it.
They then tested it directly on a black body, listened to my feedback, confirmed that it was not transparent enough, and immediately changed to a new material. They even sent me two replacement sets free of charge.
It has become much clearer now. The level of finish is close to Leica’s genuine bottom plate protection film for film M bodies. Now it is truly transparent!
I am half way through a holiday in Europe and this case has made the x100vi very comfortable to use. It adds nearly zero bulk while the grip is large enough to improve handling. I previously used the Smallrig grip which makes the camera too bulky. Although the case covers the battery access, I found it easy enough to slip on and off.
Nice to have it on hand, give the old lens new ID for Leica digital camera. Easy to use, faster and safe to do it. Instead of remove the lens mount and engraved the color code, paint it is another choice for the lens owner.
I searched for a grip for my Leica because my grip did not feel secure. After trying the $450 leather version I found the Akara version. It is perfect! It does not shriek Leica and invite camera snatchers, it fits my hand perfectly, including rounded edges, and it pops off to remove the SD card and change the battery.

The rings hide the silver nose of many lenses. Not only is it a much prettier look but also cuts down on reflections you might see of the lens while shooting in glass. A tiny bit of silver remains visible so I add a UV filter with a black ring and voila! everything is now black.
